Patient dies in ambulance-tractor collision

Inaruwa, Sept 4: Two persons including a patient were killed in a fateful collision involving an ambulance and a tractor on Saturday night at Simariya of Sunsari. 

A tractor (Ko 1 Ta 189) heading towards Inaruwa from Duhabi and an ambulance (Sa 1 Cha 894) rushing a patient to Biratnagar from Siraha's Gol Bazaar collided at Simariya – 2 along the Inaruwa – Duhabi road stretch, police said.

 The deceased have been identified as ambulance driver Ananda Shrestha, 27, of Gol Bazaar – 1 and patient Saroj Yadav, 30, of Siraha – 10. Both died on the spot. In the mishap, Santosh Yadav, Shiva Ganesh Yadav, Sanjeet Yadav and Papu Yadav were seriously injured.

 They are receiving treatment at the Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar, Inspector, Shiva Kumar Pokharel, of Area Police Office, Duhabi said. The dead bodies have been kept at District Hospital Inaruwa for post-mortem examination.

 Brother, sister disappear in Sunsari river

 Two children of a single family have gone missing in Sunsari river, District Police Office (DPO), Sunsari said.

Mishralal Mandal's son Manit Mandal, 8, and daughter Babita Mandal, 6, of Narsingh – 1 of Sunsari disappeared while playing in the river, Superintendent of Police (SP), Posh Raj Pokharel said. The search for the kids is underway.
