Curriculum vitae of Professor Badri Prasad Badhu
Born on October 15, 1959 in the mid-hills of Nepal, Dr Badri P Badhu completed his undergraduate medical studies in 1988. After serving in a hospital of a remote district of the country for 5 years, he opted for postgraduate specialisation in MD Ophthalmology.
As an ophthalmologist, Dr Badhu decided to pursue his academic career at the Department of Ophthalmology of the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan, Nepal. Professor Badhu is a senior faculty at the BPKIHS and has served as Professor and Head of Ophthalmology and also as the Dean for Academic Programs.
The areas of special interest of Professor Badhu include anterior segment surgery as well as eyelid and orbital oncology. He has published several scientific articles in both national and international peer-reviewed journals.
Many undergraduate and postgraduate students have completed their education
and training under his supervision and guidance. He has experience of imparting ophthalmic training in many countries of the Asia Pacific Region.
Professor Badri P Badhu is the founder Editor-in-Chief of the Nepalese Journal of Ophthalmology - a peer-reviewed and pubmed-indexed academic Journal of the Nepal Ophthalmic Society. He has also contributed as a peer reviewer for many other journals.
Professor Badhu's other special interests include reading and writing poems in Nepali.
