Dr Ram K Ghimire is the Head of the Department of radiology at the department of Radiology. He has done diploma in medical radiodiagnosis and Masters in radiodiagnosis from Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University. He is formerly the Professor and head of the department of radiology and imaging at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Institute of Medicine. He is active member of various National and international societies including the Nepal Medical Association, Nepal Radiologist Association, Breast and Thyroid Society of Nepal, Nepal Thoracic Society, Ultrasound Society of Nepal, European Society of Radiology(corresponding) and Nepalese Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Currently he is president of Nepalese Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He has many publications in national and international journals. He served as a member of Institutional Review board of institute of medicine and member of Academic Council of Institute of Medicine for several years. He is instrumental in initiating various radiological services and establishing imaging institutions in Nepal. His major areas of interest are MR imaging and vascular and interventional radiology. He has been awarded by the hospital, Institute of Medicine, university and the nation on numerous occasions including with “Suprabal Janasewa Shree” one of the highest civilian award of the country for public service.
