1. Fertility Treatments

At Vatsalya we are very concerned about short- and Long-term health of the mother and the babies, therefore our approach to treatment slightly differs from Traditional IVF.  We focus on giving minimal amounts of drugs to reduce side effects while still achieving comparable success rates.

Every treatment plan is designed keeping in mind your medical history, preferences and circumstances and is tailored to perfectly fit your need.

 Our Fertility services:

1. 1. Natural IVF: It is also known as No or minimum stimulation IVF. It is carried out without or low amounts of the follicle stimulating. The target of this procedure is to collect the one egg that the body has naturally selected, fertilize it into an embryo and transfer back into a drug-free womb. It is ideal for women with low ovarian reserve/Low AMH/High FSH/poor responder to fertility drugs. It is less expensive than Fertility Drug stimulated IVF cycle and can be repeated in consecutive cycles.

1. 2. Modified Natural Cycle IVF : It is slightly different form of Natural Cycle IVF in which stimulation hormones are used for 3-4 days in order to prevent spontaneous ovulation and keep the follicles healthy and growing. In this type of cycle there are chances of having more than one eggs during egg collection. It is also suitable for women with low ovarian reserve/Low AMH/High FSH/poor responder to fertility drugs.

1. 3. Mild IVF : Mild IVF is carried out using minimal doses of stimulating hormones within a woman’s natural menstrual cycle in order to collect multiple eggs. Unlike in conventional IVF method where uses 4-5 weeks of medication is given, Mild IVF uses only 7-10 days of stimulating hormones. The main focus of Mild IVF is to collect smaller number of eggs but of good quality that in turn make good grade embryos. Traditional IVF is more concerned with collecting higher number of eggs but majority of those eggs can be chromosomally abnormal. So by applying a more gentle approach and working with your body, we aim to collect smaller number of eggs but of higher quality. The excess embryos can be safely stored at our clinic for future use. All women who are ovulating and have good egg reserve can opt for Mild IVF. It is also ideal for women with Polycystic Ovaries (PCO)/ Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome(PCOS). Also, any couple who prefer minimal medication and multiple embryos can go for this approach.

1. 4. Segmented IVF : In this type of IVF, the egg collection and embryo transfer is done in two different cycles. The egg collection procedure can be harsh to the uterus because of the administration of hormone stimulating drugs and the egg retrieval process. As a result the womb may still be weak and unable to effectively implant the embryos. Segmented IVF enables you to recover between the two important cycle of treatment. The retrieved eggs are duly fertilized into the embryos and frozen in our Embryo Bank until the next cycle when your uterus has recovered from the previous procedure and ready for the Embryo Transfer. Segmented IVF is the most popular and effective method in the world. It ensures better uterine environment thus increasing the probability of embryo implantation and also reduces the chances of Ovarian Hyper stimulating Syndrome(OHSS). 

1. 5. IUI : Intra- Uterine Insemination (IUI) is the least invasive form of IVF treatment. It is carried out by directly inserting specially washed sperm into a woman’s uterus during the most fertile point of her cycle. The fertile point is identified by the doctor by monitoring the hormonal blood tests and scan. IUI can be performed during a  woman’s natural cycle or ovulation can be triggered by using Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG) injection. This is a low-cost assisted reproduction treatment and is mainly suitable for couple with cases of male infertility and female with no infertility issue, hence requiring the use of donor sperm. It is also ideal for woman whose male partner serve abroad, in case of which the sperm of the partner can be stored at our lab and used for IUI procedure. IUI cannot be performed on women with blocked fallopian tubes. It is important to understand that the success rate of IUI is lower than IVF. We will have an individualized assessment to determine whether this procedure is suitable for you or not.

2. Fertility Diagnosis

Correct Diagnosis of the cause of infertility is the core of treatment at Vatsalya. In order to maximize the chances of success and ensure healthy pregnancy, It is vital to evaluate the fertility state of each patient. 2. 1. Ovarian reserve testing : Level of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), Luteinizing Hormone(LH), Estradiol, Thyroid Stimulating Hormone(TSH), progesterone, prolactin help determine the fertility potential. These tests have to be done on specific days of the menstrual cycle.
   2. Anti-Mullerian Hormone Test(AMH) : AMH test is also a good indicator of Ovarian reserve. It can be done any day of the menstrual cycle.
   3. Semen analysis: Detailed analysis of the density, morphology and mobility of semen is done by highly experienced embryologists
   4. Advanced Ultrasound : Ultrasound of the uterus is very important to assess the fertility status of women and pick up details that might have otherwise been missed. The patients undergo a thorough scan of the womb to identify any abnormalities that might affect the implantation of the embryos.

1. 1. Intra-cytoplasmic Sperm Injection(ICSI) : ICSI is a highly advanced technique used in IVF treatment through which the sperm is directly injected into the egg in the laboratory. This technique drastically improves the chances of fertilization, thereby increasing the rate of success.
2. 2. Laser Assisted Hatching: Assisted hatching is used to help the embryo hatch from its protective outer shell, the zona pellucida, and promote implantation in the uterine wall after embryo transfer. Up to the blastocyst stage, the mammalian embryo is surrounded by the Zona pellucida. Prior to the implantation, the embryo has to escape from the ZP, a process known as hatching .The failure of embryo hatching may be one of the various factors that limited human reproductive efficiency, specifically in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) fields. Assisted hatching of human embryos before their transfer in embryo transfer has been proposed to be beneficial, especially in cases of cultured embryos with a thick and/or dense ZP. A thick ZP may be associated with advanced woman's age or poor embryo quality. Recent researches have shown that women who have undergone repeated IVF treatments without results, double their chances of a pregnancy by use of assisted laser hatching.
   3. Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis(PGD)/ Preimplantation Genetic Screening(PGS):

PGD/PGS is a technique applied for testing the embryos for chromosomal normalcy in order to separate the abnormal embryos prior to embryo transfer. Performing pgd/pgs significantly reduces the chances of chromosomal deformity in the fetus during developmental phase in pregnancy.

Testicular Sperm aspiration(TESA)/Percutaneous Epidydimal Sperm Aspiration(PESA)/Testicular Sperm Extraction(TESE) : These are the techniques of surgical sperm retrieval performed in the cases of male infertility due to poor sperm production or the male partner has undergone vasectomy that cannot be reversed.
