Information
This medication is used to treat eye/ear infections. Ofloxacin belongs to a class of drugs called quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This medication treats only bacterial eye/ear infections.

Dose and Direction of Use
Adult : 1 drop every 2 hrs then reducing the frequency as infection is controlled and continued for 48 hrs after healing.
Children : For less sever infection 3-4 times daily is generally sufficient.
Not to be used more than 10 days in case of children
Mode of Action
Blocks bacterial DNA synthesis by inhibiting bacterial topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and topoisomerase IV & interfere with protein synthesis
Uses
Conjunctivitis : Mucopurulent conjunctivitis & Blepharo conjunctivitis
Contraindications
History of Epilepsy
Hypersensitivity to Ofloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics
Should not be administered to patients with cerebral convulsive disorders

Avoid sunlight and UV-light
