Olevo contains Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride 5mg as active constituent. Levocetrizine is a third-generation non-sedative antihistamine developed from second generation antihistamine, Cetrizine.Chemically Levocetrizine is the active enantiomer of Cetrizine. Levocetirizine is a selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist, with antihistamine, anti-inflammatory and potential anti-angiogenic activities. It relief from symptoms such as blocked or runny nose, sneezing, and itchy or watery eyes. It can also give relief from allergic reactions after insect bites and symptoms such as rash, swelling, itching, and irritation.

Dose and Direction of Use
Swallow the tablet whole by mouth. You can take it with or without food. Don't crush, chew or break the tablet. Follow the dose and duration as prescribed by the doctor.
Mode of Action
Levocetirizine selectively inhibits histamine H1 receptors.This action prevents histamine from activating this receptor and causing effects like smooth muscle contraction, increased permeability of vascular endothelium, histidine uptake in basophils, stimulation of cough receptors, and stimulation of flare responses in the nervous system.Thus relieves the allergic symptoms.
Uses
- Relief of nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal and perrenial allergic rhinitis.
- Relieving the symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Contraindications
Don't use this medicine if you have:
- Hypersensitivity to Levocetrizine,hydroxyzine or any piperazine derivative
- Severe renal impairement less than 10 ml/min creatinine clearence
Precautions and Warning
- Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breast feeding woman before taking this medicine to understand the risk and benefit ratio.
- Talk to your doctor about past medical history like kidney problem or liver problem before taking this medicine
- Don't double the dose for the missed one.
- Complete the prescribed dose and duration of medicine.
- It may cause dizziness or drowsiness so avoid any activity that requires concentration unless you know how the medicine acts on you.
- Avoid drinking alcohol as it can worsen the side effects.
