PARDOPA tablet contains Levodopa and Carbidopa. It is a combination medicine used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson's disease and Parkinson's-like symptoms which are associated with some other diseases. These may include shakiness, stiffness, and slowness of movement. These symptoms are usually caused by a lack of dopamine, a natural substance present in the brain.

Dose and Direction of Use
Swallow the tablet whole by mouth. You can take it with or without food. Don't crush, chew or break the tablet. Follow the dose and duration as prescribed by the doctor.
Mode of Action
Levodopa and Carbidopa treats Parkinsonism. Levodopa is a dopamine precursor which gets converted to dopamine, a chemical messenger that controls movement in the brain. Carbidopa is a peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor which prevents breakdown of levodopa allowing it to enter the brain and increase dopamine levels.

Don't use this medicine if you have:
- Hypersensitivity to this medicine
Precautions and Warning
- Avoid this tablet with high protein meals such as cottage cheese, Swiss cheese, protein powder, eggs and milk.
- Do not stop taking the medication without talking to your doctor. It may result in a serious syndrome that causes fever, stiff muscles, unusual body movements, sweating, and confusion.
- Talk to your doctor in case you develop hallucinations or other changes in your behavior.
- Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breast feeding woman before taking this medicine to understand the risk and benefit ratio.
- Talk to your doctor about past medical history like kidney problem or liver problem before taking this medicine
- Don't double the dose for the missed one.
- Complete the prescribed dose and duration of medicine.
- It may cause dizziness or drowsiness so avoid any activity that requires concentration unless you know how the medicine acts on you.
