TELMI 40 is brand name of Telmisartan 40mg. It belongs to a class of angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by relaxing blood vessels, which helps to lower blood pressure. It is also used to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, or death due to heart problems in certain patients. It can be prescribed either alone or in combination with other medicines.

Dose and Direction of Use
Swallow the tablet whole by mouth. You can take it with or without food. Don't crush, chew or break the tablet. Follow the dose and duration as prescribed by the doctor.
Mode of Action
It blocks the binding of Angiotensin II to AT1 receptor.This results in decrease in Aldosterone release and decrease sodium and water reabsorption.Also results in vasodilation and finally decreases high blood pressure.

Contraindications
Don't use this medication if you have:

It can cause ankle or foot swelling. Raise your legs while you are sitting down and talk to your doctor if it does not go away.
