Valaderm-500 is the valacyclovir 500mg belonging to antiviral drug that slows the growth and spread of the herpes virus to help the body fight the infection. It is also used to prevent cytomegalovirus following a kidney transplant in high risk cases.

Dose and Direction of Use

• Take the tablet orally with water.
• Swallow the tablet without any modification to the tablet.

Mode of Action

Valacyclovir is converted to acyclovir, which is converted to its triphosphate form, acyclovir triphosphate (ACV-TP). ACV-TP competitively inhibits viral DNA polymerase, incorporates into and terminates the growing viral DNA chain, and inactivates of the viral DNA polymerase.
